About us

Joze ten Have v.o.f. is a cooperation of expressive artists working together to design and produce exclusive lighting. We have a standard collection of lamps [LINK] which you can choose from, or we can design lighting for your specific needs or wishes. Often a customer doesn't know exactly what he or she wants. Then we make some designs based upon the existing interior and situation. The right lamp at the right place can transform a space, or give the finishing touch. We analyze what exactly is required: soft or bright light, direct or indirect, a prominent or decorative design, and so on. Sometimes a sober styled interior can use a wild shaped lighting fixture to loosen it up, or the other way around. Other times it's more suitable to follow the style of the interior.

Lighting is a very important part of the atmosphere and through our years of experience (see our lighting projects [ LINK]) and through our capacity to realize the most various designs we can use this element to optimize any space. It also happens that people (for example (interior) architects) know exactly what they want, they already have the design and then we realize it. On request we have even made exact duplicates of old lamps. We can also renovate old lamps and on occasions we have used renovated art nouveau, art deco and fifties lamps in our lighting projects. One of our traits is our capacity to make huge chandeliers [LINK]. We have made chandeliers with diameters of up to four meters and even larger sizes would be possible.

The material we use most is half-hard brass, and also iron, stainless steel and cupper. We use brass because of its durability. Brass can be finished with top layer plating, like nickel (shiny or pearl), chrome and patina. Pearl nickel plating looks just like mat stainless steel. Our glass shades and glass objects [LINK] are mouth blown in very small numbers and created according to own design. We have the ability to realize the most fantastic glass shapes, such as the 'Hour Glass' [LINK] lamp, which has to glass parts with a height of one meter each, or the 'Ice Cube'[LINK], a mouth blown glass cube of 40x40x40 cm, Or the Glass Balls [LINK]. Apart from that there is a possibility to produce glass with several other techniques: pressing, centrifuging and bending; in all colors and finished with melted motives or silk screen painting.

Because of our backgrounds in visual arts we have a unique view on lighting design which shows in our lamps. We also engage in applied art projects [LINK]: designing and creating art for public places. Another applied art form we engage in is the design and creation of mosaics [LINK].
